About the Story

Arabella Bloom is fighting to hold her family’s crumbling estate together, determined to carve out a life shaped by her own choices rather than the expectations pressing in from every side. Across the ocean, Tegan Doyle rises from a childhood steeped in shadows, a man forged from charm, hunger, and the ghosts he refuses to name. When their worlds collide, the connection is immediate—dangerous in its familiarity, undeniable in its pull—and both must confront the truth that some hearts recognise each other long before the mind dares to follow. In a land where duty and desire wage quiet war, their meeting becomes the spark that threatens to rewrite everything they thought they knew about love, freedom, and themselves.

To the Right: The Bloom Sisters walking their horses. An extract from the book: "The hedge rose toward Arabella Bloom in a blur of gold and brown, winter leaves rattling like applause as the dark bay mare sailed over the obstacle. Dry twigs brushed Bella’s boots; a spray of brittle oak leaves broke against her skirts and scattered on the wind. For one held breath, there was nothing beneath them at all—no earth, no duty, no house full of expectations.

Only the clean, cold rush of air
and the warm, living power of Tiger Lily gathering herself beneath her.

They landed with a jolt that shot through Bella’s thighs and up her spine—delicious, grounding, real. Hooves thudded into the ochre track, sending up puffs of red dust that tasted faintly of salt. Ahead, the vineyards fell away in orderly russet rows, their leaves turned to copper and wine-dark garnet, running down toward the pale, shining line of the sea.

Out here, she was not the quiet sister.
Not the dutiful daughter.
Not the future bride of a stranger.

She was simply a woman on a horse she trusted, riding toward a horizon that belonged to no one."

Amara Desforge Riding her Arabian Stallion over some obstacles.

Amara stood with her gloved hands resting lightly on the rail, posture relaxed but eyes sharp. Her short, wavy hair—ginger streaked with sun‑washed blonde—peeked from beneath a perfectly shaped black riding hat. A scatter of freckles dusted her small, pouty nose, and her blue eyes shone with that familiar mix of mischief and appraisal.

Where Wildflowers Blossom

In a world shaped by duty, desire, and the ghosts we inherit, two lives on opposite sides of the ocean are set on a collision course neither can outrun. Arabella Bloom rides toward freedom even as her family estate crumbles beneath winter’s weight, while Tegan Doyle rises from the ashes of a childhood no one should survive. When their paths finally cross, the truth is simple and devastating — some hearts are forged in fire, and some are born knowing how to burn

Tegan Doyle is a man carved from charm and ruin, a survivor who learned to smile long before he ever learned to trust.

When Bella and Tegan meet, the world seems to still for a heartbeat—two strangers recognising something dangerous and familiar in each other before either has the sense to look away.
